Maybe 6.h4 is worth a try? I think this is a bit more solid than 6.f4.

Possibly then Black plays ...h5 and after g4-g5 plays some form of ...d5 and ...Ne7 to try to undermine White's protection of f5?

In the past opponents have always allowed me to play f4 and Nf3 in the opening attaining an 'accelerated closed Sicilian' where it is not necessary to play g3,Bg2,h3,g4. The problem in this opening was I was never able to get a pawn to f4!
